This weekend at The Orchard we continued our series called Baggage.
Scott talked about the tough topic of addiction. We talked about turning to God, telling someone we trust and fighting for freedom from addictions. We can’t overcome addictions on our own, otherwise they wouldn’t be addictions to start with. We need God’s help to do what we can’t do on our own.
Scott also mentioned that we may be at the point where counseling is necessary in order to get past our baggage. Click here if you need to access a list of currently recommended Christian counselors.

Don’t forget this weekend to sign up for Financial Peace University. This class will help you think through your budget, get out of debt, save for the kid’s college, maybe even that motorcycle/boat/102″ LCD TV you’ve always wanted (okay, maybe that’s too far!), and give like you’ve never given before. Sign up in the foyer at the FPU Registration tables after any service. Just to review, here are the basics:
- The class will meet from 6:30-8:30 for 6 weeks beginning February 23rd.
- Childcare will be available for a nominal fee.
- Topics will include making and sustaining a budget, finding big big bargains, how to save money, etc.
- The video teaching is by nationally-known author and radio/television personality Dave Ramsey. Great stuff!
- The cost of $100 per family includes audio CD’s of every lesson, a workbook, Dave Ramsey’s “Financial Peace Revisited” book, a deluxe envelope system, and more!
