Are you on the fence about whether you should go to Financial Peace University @ The Orchard or not?  Listen to what one person who attends The Orchard and has been through FPU had to say…

My wife and I got married in Nov 1999, when I was a 28-year old Youth Minister and she was 3 months into her teaching career after graduating college that May.  Neither of us had any good training as to how to handle our money, but lots of bad examples.  Between the two of us and our cars, student loans, credit cards and financed furniture, we had almost $60K in consumer debt and we didn’t even own a house.  I don’t think we even knew how much trouble we were about to be in…we were clueless.   I can honestly say that I don’t know where we would be if we hadn’t gone through FPU at our church.  Probably normal…broke!  Today, 9 years later, after practicing the “baby-steps” that we learned in FPU, Tricia and I have no debt except our home; we don’t finance ANYTHING; we have an emergency fund, savings and retirement; and best of all we never fight about money!  [That just leaves more time to fight about sex and housework…I’M KIDDING!!!!]  The $100 that I spent 9 years ago has paid for itself hundreds of times over.  It doesn’t matter whether you’re broke, “normal,” or rich (even by American standards) FPU has a lot for everyone.  God has blessed us tremendously through what we’ve learned to practice through FPU.
Sign up this weekend in the Foyer-  we promise you won’t regret it!   See you then!

Don’t forget this weekend to sign up for Financial Peace University.  This class will help you think through your budget, get out of debt, save for the kid’s college, maybe even that motorcycle/boat/102″ LCD TV you’ve always wanted (okay, maybe that’s too far!), and give like you’ve never given before.  Sign up in the foyer at the FPU Registration tables after any service.  Just to review, here are the basics:

  • The class will meet from 6:30-8:30 for 6 weeks beginning February 23rd.
  • Childcare will be available for a nominal fee.
  • Topics will include making and sustaining a budget, finding big big bargains, how to save money, etc.
  • The video teaching is by nationally-known author and radio/television personality Dave Ramsey.  Great stuff!
  • The cost of $100 per family includes audio CD’s of every lesson, a workbook, Dave Ramsey’s “Financial Peace Revisited” book, a deluxe envelope system, and more!

Sign up this weekend, see you soon!
