This weekend at The Orchard we continued our series called Baggage.
Scott talked about the tough topic of addiction. We talked about turning to God, telling someone we trust and fighting for freedom from addictions. We can’t overcome addictions on our own, otherwise they wouldn’t be addictions to start with. We need God’s help to do what we can’t do on our own.
Scott also mentioned that we may be at the point where counseling is necessary in order to get past our baggage. Click here if you need to access a list of currently recommended Christian counselors.
What’s the difference between people who volunteer and people who don’t? About 436 more hours (or 2.5 weeks!) of TV viewing per year.
According to a recent study, people who volunteer give up an average of an hour of TV per day compared to those who don’t.
If you aren’t volunteering, inquire at the Info Counter about how to GET INVOLVED and make a difference!

Pastor Scott gave a great talk this weekend on BOUNDARIES. If you are a parent I would HIGHLY recommend that you read the book Boundaries with Kids.
The book is easy to read and teaches parents how to use consequences effectively – so you no longer need to nag, yell or make threats to get your kids to obey!

Here are a few photos of this weekend’s art by Katrina Willis. Such a beautiful element that really added to our worship environment.
We continued our “Becoming” series this weekend and I taught on how we can prepare our hearts for the times we gather together as a community – specifically how we ARRIVE, ENGAGE, and LISTEN. Such a unique, but powerful teaching. And great response!
Really, really loving this series…
