Ted Egly brought a message this week about vows… promises, commitments. Sometimes we struggle with these. We took a look ast four areas where we wanted to get practical in: marriage, parenting, friendships, and our jobs. Ted challenged us to raise the bar in our commitments and become people who are know as people of integrity – people who honor their commitments. Here’s the music setlist from this weekend (with links to iTunes to purchase the original recordings):
- Who Knew – Pink ***** (walk-in song)
- Lord We Praise You – Todd Fields
- King of Majesty – Hillsong United
- Unchanging – Chris Tomlin
The three take aways: say yes to less, say no to more, and fix what is broken.

This week we finished our series Suburban Myths by talking about the myth that ‘church is all about me’. Hasn’t this been a great series? Very powerful and practical stuff!
This week we concluded by looking at the priority that Jesus placed on those who were lost. If you missed it (or want to check it out again), you can download the podcast of the message here.
Here’s the music setlist from this weekend (with links to iTunes to purchase the original recordings):
- Why Georgia – John Mayer (walk-in song)
- Not To Us – Chris Tomlin
- It’s All About You – Big Daddy Weave
- Meant To Live – Switchfoot
- Take All Of Me – Hillsong United
The Orchard will always be a church community that places a high priority on reaching those who don’t know Jesus.

Contentment – being happy with what you’ve got. The myth we tend to believe is that ‘more is better’. Three things that Scott shared with us to help learn to be content: remember whose stuff it is, be generous with the stuff, and ask WHY before we BUY.
Here’s the music setlist from this weekend (with links to iTunes to purchase the original recordings):
- All To You – Lincoln Brewster
- King of Majesty – Hillsong United
- Enough – Jeremy Camp
- (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction – The Rolling Stones *****
See you next Sunday as we wrap up with one of the biggest myths of the series.

Each month, our 1st – 6th graders learn a new virtue. The verse for that month and each week’s Bible lesson relate to that virtue.
This month’s virtue is UNIQUENESS.
The memory is:
“There are different kinds of gifts. But they are all given by the same Spirit.” 1 Corinthians 12:4, NIrV
Your kids need to understand that there isn’t a cookie cutter mold for the perfect person…it’s okay to be different. God can choose anybody He wants, no matter how weird or insignificant they think they are, to have a part in His big plan.
God loves uniqueness. You can tell because he never picks the people you’d quite expect to do His work!
God wants us to recognize our own uniqueness. Why? Because He created us for a unique purpose.
Isn’t good to know that we can be ourselves instead of trying to fit into that cookie cutter mold?
This month, talk about how God has given each of us gifts. Intentionally point out and thank God for your child’s unique gifts and abilities!
For more information about a tool to teach each monthly virtue to your children, go to FamilyTimes.org.

This weekend was the second week in our Suburban Myths series. We talked about control… just a myth. Even if we think we are in control, it’s not true – there’s just too much we don’t know or have the power to do anything about. What we can know is that God is good, God is all-knowing and God is all-powerful.
Here’s the music setlist from this weekend (with links to iTunes to purchase the original recordings):
- You Are Good – Lincoln Brewster
- Famous One – Chris Tomlin
- How Great Is Our God – Chris Tomlin
- Control – Mutemath
God is for us, has our best interest in mind, knows the things we are going through and has the power to change them or use them for our good.
