168 Hours: The Well – Sunday 02.25.07

This weekend, we wrapped our 168 Hours series. It’s been a great journey into the ministry of Jim and Judy Larson, but this is just the beginning. Scott gave us some insight into The Well, the ministry that Jim and Judy lead. We also got to talk with the Larson’s and three of the women they have helped rescue (and who now work at The Well), via iChat (aren’t Mac’s the greatest?).

We will be talking in the next few weeks of some great opportunities for us as a community to get involved in reaching our arms around the globe to make a difference in the lives of others.

If you were at First Wednesday, you saw many of things that our pastor “LOVES.” 

It’s time I share what I love…

I L – O – V – E our amazing volunteers. 

It fills my heart as each week as I hear from kids and parents…

One 2^nd grader wrote on his blog about his “cool” small group leader and how excited he was about the prayer journal he received from him. 

One mom called me to tell me that they are new to our church and how impressed they were with the team working in the nursery. They immediately engaged her son and he had a great experience (which, in turn, made them have a great experience).

One dad says that they moved here from California (where they were attending a large, well-known church). He said that he was so impressed with the preschool teachers—how much care they showed him and his children. 

A new volunteer was so impressed with the patience and love that a Lead Teacher had for each of the kids in her class.

Our Lead Teachers have expressed their gratitude for the people who come in during the week to prepare everything they need for the weekend.

What an amazing team of volunteers. Not one is paid, and not many are thanked (enough) for the work that they do.   

Well, this is one big THANK YOU for caring for our kids and families. Thank you for making Orchard’s Kids such an amazing environment. Thank you for introducing our kids to Christ and for leading them in a growing relationship with Him!!! 

You are appreciated.

This was the first weekend in our series 168 Hours – a week in Bangkok, Thailand. Over the next couple of weeks we are going to be seeing some great footage and hearing about God at work in Thailand.

Are you surrounding yourself with others who are helping you dream bigger?
